Is there a limit on the number of hours I can work at Cook & Bake Center?

There is no maximum number of hours. The minimum is a four-hour shift. Please note: Full payment covering the minimum four-hour shift is required even if you have used less time than the four hours allotted. In cases where longer shifts are booked in advance, billing for the shift begins at the reserved time, not the time of arrival at our facility.

How do we pay and which forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is required at the end of the scheduled shift. Depending on the circumstances, payments may also be made in advance.  We accept cash and checks.

What if I need more time than what was originally scheduled?

If you need to work more hours than what you originally planned, simply give us a call to let us know. If there are no other clients scheduled to work right after your shift, you may extend your scheduled hours. Please note: additional time not scheduled is charged at $30 per hour beginning at 10pm. This rate does NOT apply to scheduled shifts and hours.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my shift?

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy without penalty, otherwise the shift will be charged.

Do I need a license to work at Cook & Bake Center?

It will depend on the type of work you do. If you prepare food in order to sell it at a store, supermarket, farmer’s market, website, or any other commercial venue you are considered a food manufacturer which requires a “20-C Food Processing Establishment License” from the Department of Agriculture. Catering operations do not need a “20-C” license but do need a Food Handler’s Certificate (ServSafe) as required by the health authorities.

We provide the necessary information to help you determine which permit/license you may need.

Do I need liability insurance?

Yes. Cook & Bake Center must be added to your liability insurance policy prior to your first day of work.
